Early Life

Hamisu Sa’ad Yusuf, popularly known as Hamisu Breaker, was born on February 27, 1992, in Dorayi, Gwale Local Government Area, Kano State.

He was nurtured there; also, his parents are both from the Hausa ethnic group. Therefore, he is a native of Arewa (northern Nigeria).

Hamisu is a devoted Muslim who was raised by a Muslim family in Muslim-dominant Kano.

Age

Hamisu is currently 31 years old in this 2023.

Education

Hamisu did both his primary and secondary school education at Dorayi.

But to date, there is no report that says he went to any higher institution within or outside Nigeria.

Career

Hamisu Breaker is a talented musician, singer, songwriter, and, of course, a performer from Kano State, Nigeria.

Before becoming a well-known musician, when he was a youngster, he was an expert at the breaking dancing style, which gave him the first half of his stage name, Breaker.

He sings in his native language, Hausa, which makes him famous among Hausa speakers of the West African province, especially in Northern Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, amongst others. And most of his songs are love-based songs, which in Hausa we called Hausa Nanaye or Wakokin Soyayya.

His popularity did not extend that much to the southern part of Nigeria because most southerners are not Hausa speakers.

His career began when he was still a secondary school student, and he released many singles before releasing his debu album in 2020.

His love song, Jaruma, was released in 2020 and Hausa youths took it like wildfire because it has many heart-touching and devotional love verses.

Jaruma had attracted attention of academicians in Northern Nigeria and it now entered the field of study at the university. Hausa Oral Literature Professor, Sa’idu Muhammad Gusau himself sang the song.

The charisma and acceptance and the taste of the song and its style seems to have attracted the attention of lovers especially the married women who were seen in the video bowing in front of their husbands, at the same time as they are staying at home due to the corona epidemic.

Poetry is studied in the field of education if it is suitable for study and what the study is looking for, maybe this is the reason that attracted the attention of Professor Gusau, the famous teacher of oral songs at Bayero University in Kano

Jaruma rapidly became one of the most streamed songs in the Hausa music industry as a result of this.

Momee Gombe, a well-known actress in Nigerian movies whose real name is Maimuna Abubakar, has vehemently denied having a romantic connection with Hamisu Breaker, despite there being rumors to the contrary. Momee Gombe’s divorce from her husband was allegedly caused by Hamisu Breaker.
